The Morven Park Center for Civic Impact is committed to protecting the privacy of our website visitors. The following privacy policy outlines what information we collect, ways we collect it, and how we keep it protected.

What information do we gather?

Information you give us. We collect the contact information that you provide to us. This includes information gathered through our inquiry form, contact form, pledge sign up, and any direct email correspondence. We only ask for the information we need to effectively respond to a request or process an activity, like taking the Engaged Citizenship Pledge.

Aggregate information about how people use our site and services. We track aggregate information about how visitors use our website and social media outlets. We use Google Analytics to help us understand this information and learn we can improve our content and structure. Google Analytics collects the information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including cookies and your IP address. Their use of this information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

E-newsletter effectiveness information. For those who sign up to receive our e-newsletters, we collect aggregate information about how effective they were by tracking who opened the emails and what links were clicked on. This helps us create better e-newsletters by providing content that is interesting and meaningful to the people receiving them.

What do we do with this information?

We use the information we collect to help us serve our visitors and participants effectively and efficiently. Specifically, we use the information to:

  1. Communicate with our website visitors, social media networks, program participants and others who may be interested in our work.
  2. Understand how our audiences use our services and offerings. We strongly value this feedback and use it to improve our existing programs and develop new ones.
  3. Improve our website, social media, and e-newsletter content and structure so they stay relevant, interesting, and meaningful.

What information do we share?

We do not share, sell or trade your personal information without your consent. We will only disclose your information to third parties with your written consent, if it is needed to complete your request for more information, or to sign up for opportunities provided by other organizations. If compelled by law to disclose personal information we will comply with such orders.

What about third parties?

We collaborate with outside organizations to reach new audiences and expand our program offerings.

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to the services offered by other organizations, including TurboVote, which may be displayed as collaborators on our site.

Youth under the age of 13

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to us. For this reason Morven Park’s Center for Civic Impact does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. In the event that we learn we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete the information as quickly as possible.

Parents of young children must provide written consent by emailing us if they wish to have their child take the Engaged Citizenship Pledge through this website. We will respond back with a confirmation of your consent and a downloadable copy of the Engaged Citizenship Pledge.
